What is alignment?

Alignment is obtaining the knowledge about your structure through assessment and palpation, and applying the changes necessary to achieve your goals. This includes but is not limited to pain free movement, awareness of error, and more efficient body mechanics to increase load.

The importance of a hands on assessment

We can do more than just a visual observation. Palpation is how we can connect soft tissue behavior and activity. We have tools at our fingertips to identify how the structure is working within.

Recovery Sessions

Just like we have programs to maintain strength, nutrition and heart health, we need programs to decrease recovery time needed between workouts and decrease risk of injury. This also improves performance as your body learns how to recover within minutes of extreme movement. Based on your own schedule and regimen, let’s plan your routine stretch session or deep tissue flush.

Just like you I move a lot, I sit a lot, and I use my own body in ways that could damage it and increase pain, but I am the most mobile and pain-free I have ever been. It wasn’t always this way. 

I am a massage therapist, triathlete, and travel for work often and for long hours.  In order to do all these things, I cannot reside in pain. No matter what you do, you should not reside in a physical body that does not assist the life that you want. I study the human body constantly and I talk about pain for many hours a day. We cannot judge a person’s internal structure only based on visual observation. Molecules, when watched, change their behaviors to perform. A massage therapist can palpate with their eyes closed. Palpation is how we can connect soft tissue behavior, internal awareness and activity. We have tools at our fingertips to identify how the structure is working within.

I am a LMT that specializes in structural alignment and recovery techniques. Alignment is obtaining the knowledge about your structure, and applying the changes necessary. This means I like to solve pain patterns and cue more efficient movement patterns for all. I am very familiar with how soft tissue structure feels when palpating and can tell if it is functional or dysfunctional. From this research and finding patterns, I design treatments and programs to match what I find in the structure. Together, we will mold and move you out of pain. This includes several modalities like deep tissue massage, Myofascial Release, Thai stretching, Shiatsu, hydrotherapy, yoga, cupping, breath work, rest days, and heart rate zone training. Be ready to learn! I strive to have all 3 important components in every treatment: palpation assessment, treatment of soft tissue, and movement cues. When I can identify through palpation where the dysfunction is, we can create a plan to treat it. It will be the perfect combination of many modalities.
